Children's MINISTRY

Developing a Relationship with Jesus

The goal of our Children's Ministry is to bring our youngest members from the community into a relationship with Jesus. We believe children have the capacity to walk intimately with God and we help guide them through practical skills learning, Bible stories, songs and crafts.

Contact our church office at 705-743-4904 (Tuesday-Friday, 8 am-noon), for more information about the children's programs below.

  • Summer Afternoon Drop-In at "The Hub" (Grades 3-8)

The Hub Youth Centre, our neighbour at 238 Goodfellow Road, hosts a free afternoon drop-in for youth in grades 3-8 during July and August. Kids enjoy games, food, outings, summer gardening and more. This program is overseen by Youth Unlimited with support from Cephas Christian Reformed Church.

The summer drop-in is held on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 - 6:00 pm. Contact Justin Dracup for more info and to register your child at elementary@youthunlimitedkaw.com.

  • Kids' Cooking Classes (Boys & Girls Grades 3-6)

Kids are invited to a series of free cooking classes at Cephas Church, where they learn to prepare a healthy meal and enjoy eating supper together. They also play games, have a Bible lesson and do crafts. These Friday afternoon classes run from 3:30 - 6:00 pm, and are overseen jointly with Youth Unlimited.

Our Volunteers

Our volunteers acknowledge that children are a gift from God (Psalm 137:3). Our church is committed to making children's ministry a safe, Biblically relevant and fun environment for your kids.

All volunteers understand our children's ministry guidelines, agree with the vision and mission of Cephas Church, have a current background check and have participated in our denomination's "Safe Church" training program.
